Overview
Helio's customer ran a fast-growing behavioural-health practice fourteen states, 1,400+ clinicians, 90,000 active patients. Clinical workflow was spread across four separate vendors. Charting in one, billing in another, messaging in a third, care plans handed around as PDFs.
Build a unified surface that respected the clinical workflow's existing rhythm clinicians wouldn't tolerate adding clicks while consolidating four vendor relationships into one platform. HIPAA compliance from day zero, with a believable path to SOC 2 Type II within twelve months.
Approach

We shadowed twelve clinicians across two weeks before writing a line of code. The interface follows the natural arc of a session pre-session prep, in-session charting, post-session billing with everything reachable from the keyboard.

Encryption-at-rest with per-tenant keys, audit logging on every read of PHI, and BAA-covered infrastructure. SOC 2 Type II achieved 11 months after launch.

End-to-end encrypted messaging between clinicians and patients, with appointment reminders, intake forms, and care-plan sharing. Drove a 38% reduction in no-show rates in the first quarter after rollout.
Outcome
Helio replaced four vendor contracts with the platform we built. 1,400+ clinicians use it daily; the four legacy systems were sunset over six months. Clinical-time-on-platform fell 18% per session clinicians spend less time charting, more time in the room.
I haven't heard a clinician complain about the software in three months. Before Helio, that was a daily occurrence.
